Afterschool program. Ages 8-12. No comics drawing experience necessary.

This is an introduction to the art of creating comics. Each class we cover a new topic like character design, character writing, thumbnailing/storyboarding, drawing environments and more.

Students are encouraged to bring forward their own characters, voices and stories while we hone our craft. We work traditionally and our goal is to create a finished small comic/zine of their work by the end of the 11 week section.

We will also engage in collaborative comic exercises, games to get to know each other, and learning that making comics doesn’t have to be too difficult.
