Ages 8-12. No comics drawing experience necessary.

Not necessary but smart to bring: Child’s preferred sketchbook and drawing supplies
Small Steps Art Studio is a cozy and intimate art space for kids to explore and get to know each other. Our camp class sizes range from 6-10.
THE CLASS:
This is an introduction to the art of creating comics. No experience necessary.
Students are encouraged to bring forward their own characters, voices and stories while we hone our craft. We explore character design, character writing, thumbnailing/storyboarding, drawing environments and more. We work traditionally and students are encouraged to bring their own sketchbook and favorite drawing pens/pencils. Drawing materials are provided also.
In between lessons we take breaks, engage in collaborative exercises and games to get to know each other. We will take our lunch break outside.
Drop off: 8:50 AM, Free draw warm up(instruction starts promptly at 9:15)
9:15-10:15 Instruction & project
10:15-10:45 Snack & Break (indoors)
10:45-11:45 Instruction & project
11:45-1:15 Lunch and outdoor break
1:15-1:30 Quiet time
1:30-2:30 Instruction & project
2:30-3 Finish up and clean up
Pick up: 3:00 PM (5-minute grace period, then $5 charge for every 3 minutes late)
Refunds: Refunds for cancelling your spot in camp can only made for more than 1 week prior to the start of camp.
Because this is the first time this camp is taught at this location, there is a chance we won’t have enough enrollment to start the camp. If this is the case, we will notify you 4 weeks prior to camp starting and a full refund will be given.
Behavior: If a child’s behavior is disruptive and preventing others from enjoying and learning in camp, we will issue a warning and discuss with parents. If behavior continues, there will be a follow up with parents and child may be dismissed from camp or class. Please note that if dismissal occurs, there will be no refunds
